Wilson Munsterman is a passionate advocate, speaker, and writer who brings a unique perspective to the conversation on adoption. Born in China and adopted into an American family as an infant, Wilson grew up navigating the questions, experiences, and opportunities that come with being an adoptee. His journey shaped both his personal outlook and his desire to help others understand adoption more deeply and authentically. 

While pursuing his education at Creighton University, Wilson combined his love for learning with his commitment to service and leadership. His work extends beyond the classroom through public speaking, podcast appearances, and community involvement. He has become a trusted voice in adoption advocacy through his ability to connect with people and share experiences that open hearts and build understanding. 

His first book, Marked by Adoption, was written to provide clarity, insight, and encouragement to anyone touched by adoption. Wilson’s goal is to offer a resource that empowers parents, supports adoptees, and educates the public. Whether through writing, speaking, or outreach, Wilson continues to build connections and create conversations that honor the reality of adoption while inspiring others to walk forward with compassion and respect.

His Story:

Wilson’s journey began in China, where he was found on a doorstep as an infant and entered the orphanage system. In his earliest months, he was moved within that system until he was adopted into an American family at ten months old. Though he does not remember those first chapters of his life, they remain an important part of his story and fuel his desire to bring greater awareness to the realities of adoption. Growing up as a transracial adoptee, Wilson experienced both the challenges and the blessings that come with adoption, and these experiences shaped his perspective and inspired him to use his voice to help others better understand what adoption truly means.

His Mission:

Wilson’s mission is to bring light to the realities of adoption by sharing his story and creating meaningful conversations that reach across communities. He believes that adoption is more than a personal experience; it is a lifelong journey that affects not only the adoptee and their parents but also their extended family, friends, and the public, who may not always understand its complexities. Through his book, public speaking, and outreach, Wilson works to give adoptees a stronger voice, to provide parents with guidance and encouragement, and to help society see adoption as both a gift and a responsibility. His mission is to utilize his life and platform to educate, inspire, and encourage others to view adoption with compassion, respect, and a willingness to listen. By doing so, he hopes to build bridges of understanding that empower families, honor adoptees, and create a culture where every adoption story is approached with care and dignity.
